Sept 30 thru Oct 5, 2015: There were multiple weather events impacting Isle of Wight County and preparedness is very important. The County provided some basic information regarding preparedness and ways for citizens to stay informed as the weather system progresses.

- VIDEO SIGNED FUA: At its regular meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved a Facility Use Agreement that had also been approved and signed by the Carrollton and Windsor Volunteer Fire Departments.The Facility Use Agreement creates consistency relative to the County’s interaction with volunteer fire and rescue agencies and outlines the responsibilities of the County and the volunteer agencies as it relates to the use, maintenance, etc. of facilities.
- VIDEO RECYCLING: Isle of Wight County has one of the most comprehensive recycling programs in the state. The County operates a single-stream recycling program and opportunities for recycling are provided at all of the County’s refuse sites. This video gives residential customers a basic overview of all of the items accepted for recycling in Isle of Wight County.

Fire & Rescue Services Interview There is a great deal of interest in the relationship between the County and the local volunteer fire/rescue and EMS agencies. The County is served by a combination of paid and volunteer staff that work extremely well together. This video will provide an insider’s look at the successful partnership between the County and the volunteer agencies and how that partnership helps to improve the services offered to citizens.

Impact of Annexation on the County
At the request of the Board of Supervisors, County Administrator, Anne Seward, provided an overview of the impact of annexation on the County at the August 27th Board of Supervisors meeting.

Waterline to Gatling Pointe
There has been a lot of discussion in the community and media recently about the proposed Waterline to Gatling Pointe.
In November 2014, the Board of Supervisors directed County staff to move forward with a preliminary engineering report of the proposed waterline. Watch this video of the results of the preliminary engineering report and need for the waterline that were presented at the August 27th Board of Supervisors meeting. |
